Book: Self-Empowerment 101
Author: Rosie Kuhn

Beliefs can create resistance.  Being empowered sometimes requires a shift away from the beliefs which limit you and into a place of choice.  This freedom to choose allows you to ‘have what you say you want with ease and effortlessness, even if it seems impossible”.
Rosie helps you decode the beliefs and interpretations that are the real hostage takers of your life.  They often sabotage any movement outside of your comfort zone.  Fear of failure is one such belief that keeps you safe yet keeps you from experiencing the possibility for success.  Conversely, faith, hope and inner knowingness are traveling companions and allies on the journey towards personal power.
Join master coach Rosie Kuhn on a journey towards self discovery and self empowerment in her last book, Self Empowerment 101.

stack Happier
Book:

Happier

Author: Tal Ben-Shahar

Tal Ben Shahar explores four ontological archetypes: the Rat-Racer, the Hedonist, the Nihilist and the HappyOne. The Rat-Racer lives for the future and takes no pleasure in the present. The Hedonist takes pleasure only in the moment and has no future goals. The Nihilist takes no pleasure in the present and has no future goals. The HappyOne enjoys the pleasures of living and is working toward a future goal, be it existential actualization or a soul calling. Great exploration of these archetypes!

stack Who Moved My Cheese
Book: Who Moved My Cheese
Author: Spencer Johnson

Spencer Johnson has created a story about change and resistance to change. Using the analogy of cheese, he illustrates how our comfort zone can often keep us from acknowledging when change is needed and embracing that change. Our cheese is anything we say want in life, a good job, a loving relationship, etc. It is the story about two mice named Sniff and Scurry, and two little people named Hem and Haw. The metaphor's are so universal it's hard not to walk away with new insights into your present situation.

Book: How to Survive the Loss of a Love
Authors: Peter McWilliams, H. Bloomfield, Melba Colgrove

The New York Times "states this book is one of the ten most recommended books by clinical psychologists to their clients". Truly a gem for anyone who is mourning the loss of a love. The loss can occur in many ways, through abandonment, divorce, illness, death, etc. Some losses are obvious while some are not so. The authors help the reader to understand that all those crazy mixed up emotions are completely normal. They challenge the conventional saying that "you will get over it" which we so often hear from concerned friends. The book contains practical methods for honoring the loss, picking up the pieces and taking back your life.

Book: The Seven Principles for Making Marriage Work
Author: John Gottman

Renowned marriage therapist John Gottman has an uncanny ability to predict, within 5 minutes of meeting a couple, if their relationship will end in divorce. The signs he looks for are: criticism (distinguished from complaining), contempt (and it's cousin sarcasm), defensiveness and stonewalling (or tuning out). It is possible to overcome or shift these ways of being. After years of research on happy marriages, John has identified seven key principles. They are: enhance your love maps, nurture your fondness and admiration, turn toward each other instead of away, let your partner influence you, solve the solvable problems, overcome gridlock and create shared meaning. Too often, individuals realize what they gave away only after the divorce papers are signed.
